1. The athlete moves from the highest speed to the lowest point. Why does the speed of the athlete decrease? Because the elastic force received by the athlete at this time is already greater than the gravity, and the resultant force is upward, which is opposite to the direction of movement, so the speed gradually decreases until the speed decreases to zero. When the person reaches the lowest point, the trampoline deformation is the largest, and the elastic potential energy is also the largest. This stage is the conversion of gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy into elastic potential energy.

2. The athlete falls from a height to touch the trampoline. In this process, the center of gravity of the athlete is lowered, gravity does positive work, and the potential energy of gravity is reduced, which is converted into an increase in kinetic energy.

3. The athlete increases from touching the trampoline to its maximum speed. At this stage, the center of gravity of the athlete continues to decrease, and the gravitational potential energy continues to decrease; the kinetic energy increases, and the speed of the athlete increases.

4. The athlete rises from the lowest point to the highest point. This process is opposite to its descending process, and it is also accompanied by the mutual conversion between elastic potential energy, gravitational potential energy, kinetic energy and other energy.
